WhipStaff Ranch and Rescue is the only rescue in Northern MN that can take horses. Horses stay at the ranch or in foster homes until they are adopted. We do NOT sell horses at auction because we do not put our animals at risk of slaughter. We need kind loving forever homes, particularly for aged animals or those that are companion only and cannot be ridden. But right now what we need most is hay! Hay is scarce in our area and there is no shortage of horses that need help. We have to turn down horses in need every week because we do not have the hay to feed everyone that needs help. We have space, a wonderful vet, and willing hands, but need YOUR help to feed these majestic creatures. It costs the rescue about 400$ per year to buy hay for a horse. Would you sponsor a bale? Bales of hay cost 35$ and last the average horse 3 weeks. Please consider the donation of hay or hay funds- you'll be directly helping an animal in need. We are a 501c3 organization and your support is fully tax deductible.whipstaff-ranch.com/rescue

ADOPTEDWoodrow Male extra large senior Goat
Woodrow the goat came from a neglect situation. He was chained by his neck in a very small steel hut in the woods. He had been fed poorly and is underweight. Woodrow is a senior (about 10 yr old) buck who has lived this way for many years. His feet are so overgrown from lack of trimming that they curled up like skis. He cannot walk properly due to this. He has urine scald on his underside and legs from being forced to lay in his own filth, and from not being kept clean. One of his beautiful horns has been broken off as well. This gentlemen deserves a much better life than he had! Woodrow will begin the slow process of trimming his very overgrown feet, and will be treated for his foot rot. He will be washed and bathed and ointment applied to his urine burns. He will be castrated and vaccinated, his lice treated. His body will be nourished with healthy food and hay, he will be loved. Woodrow will have a forever home as a sanctuary animal at the ranch, never to be hurt or neglected ever again. But this will take your help! Woodrow's rehabilitation will cost several hundred dollars, and his expenses will be ongoing for the rest of his life. If you would like to help this magnificent creature have a wonderful life, please contact the ranch to donate towards Woodrow's care www.whipstaff-ranch.com/rescue.html!
